When must I book a birthday party in the German Sports & Olympia Museum?
Weekend dates are very popular, thus we recommend ca. 6 weeks notice to make a confirmed reservation for a specific date . During the week there are also free dates available on short notice, but we ask you to please allow at least 5 working days notice of a booking.
Must the parents be present at a birthday party?
No, the parents don’t have to be there, but your children will appreciate your presence. However, we particularly ask you to stay in the museum so that, in the event of emergencies, we have a contact on site.
What does it cost to celebrate a birthday in the German Sports & Olympia Museum?
The “Sprint” programme costs € 52,00 for a group of up to 8 children, each extra child costs a further € 6,50.
The “Marathon” programme costs € 80,00 for a group of up to 8 children, each extra child costs a further € 10,00.
How much is the admission charge for parents or guardians?
Up to 12 accompanying adults costs € 5,00 each, or €4,50 for larger numbers.

Mai the participants stay at the Deutsche Sports & Olympia Museum after the end of the programme?
Yes, they may stay at the museum until the end of normal opening hours, weekdays till 18.00 hours, weekends and bank holidays until 19.00 hours.
What food can one order and what does it cost?
The German Sports & Olympia Museum catering department offers the following menu for € 4,00 per capita: Pizza Margherita or Spaghetti in tomato sauce or Chips with bockwurst. A soft drink is included in the price. Please select one menu for the entire group.
Can one bring one’s own food and drink?
No, but you can order an afternoon tea table or a snack in our cafeteria. A special table will be laid and decorated for the children. You may, of course, bring a drink in a carton and a muesli bar or something similar to keep the wolf from the door till the end.
Are there parking facilities or where is the entrance to the underground car park?
The entrance to the Rheinau harbour underground car park is directly in front of the museum, access is at the Harbour Authority, Bayenstreet, you drive 800 m underground. Use the last exit at the end of the red zone.

What clothing should the children wear for a birthday party in the Deutsche Sport & Olympia Museum?
It would be best if the children wear sporty day clothes and comfortable shoes; tracksuits or similar are not necessary. There are no special changing facilities but mobile lockers are available in which rucksacks, bags and jackets can be secured. You can pick up a key for a deposit of € 5,00 at the museum cash desk. |
